Partnerships, Program Implementation
In response to the current novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak, Bizzell is assisting the CDC with efforts to keep the public informed. Bizzell is on-site at the CDC Emergency Operations Center (EOC) to provide communications and social media support as the EOC monitors emerging domestic cases of community (person-to-person) spread as well as sustained transmissions that have occurred across the globe, affecting areas in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.
Operated by the Center for Preparedness and Response (CPR) Division of Emergency Operations (DEO), the EOC serves as the CDC decision center during public health emergencies by tracking outbreaks, deploying experts into the field, coordinating the delivery of supplies and equipment to incident sites, and monitoring response activities in collaboration with local and state health departments. Bizzell will continue to provide the necessary communications and technical support to the CDC EOC for the duration of the outbreak.
